                                                         Erica Halwick-Williams - Attorney

Halwick Law, LLC was founded by Erica Halwick-Williams, a local attorney who was born and raised in the Kingston area.

Erica worked as a legal assistant starting in high school and continued during summers and breaks throughout college and law school, most recently working for the Law Office of Kathleen H. Dittus, Esq.

Erica graduated cum laude from Albany Law School in 2014 with honors in the concentrations of Family & Elder Law and Estate Planning. Erica took over the law practice of her friend and mentor Kathleen H. Dittus, after working with her for over 10 years, starting as a legal assistant and learning the ins and outs of the field before becoming an attorney.

"I am very grateful to Kathleen for the opportunity to take over her existing practice. I've always known since I was a little girl that I wanted to be a lawyer. Sure, originally I wanted to be just like Jack McCoy on Law and Order, but I love what I do. I love working with people and their loved ones to help them plan for their future and the future of their families, sometimes getting them through tough times and tough decisions. I genuinely feel like I am doing a bit of good every day.

This business, to me, is about planning to protect what is most important, and to me, there's nothing more important than family. I may be a full-time lawyer, but I am also a full-time wife to my husband, Shane, and full-time mommy to our daughter and my favorite assistant, Riley. Above is a picture of our little family – in fact, all of the pictures you will see on this website are of our family – grandparents included! Why include a bunch of strangers when I can include those that matter the most.

Kingston is my hometown - Go Tigers! And I love the opportunity to get to know friends or friends of neighbors while getting to serve my local community. The older I get, the more I learn that Kingston is a small town and we're all connected!"

Erica is dedicated to serving her local community. She is a member of the Town of Ulster Kiwanis Club, a local volunteer organization, and a member of the board of Angel Food East, a meals on wheels program from the chronically homebound in Ulster County. Erica has also been providing services at the Ulster County Office for the Aging since 2015.

You'll find Erica around town with her little family enjoying Forsyth Park, the Kingston Farmers Market, Riley's Catskill Mountain Music Together Class, or grabbing pizza at Savona's!
